Hi Sandstein, thanks for this file - a very nice addition to our articles ! Looking quickly at it, I saw a couple of mistakes, in case you wanted to upload a new version at some point:

  • "parlamentaires" should be "parlementaires";
  • fr:Luc Recordon represents Vaud, not Geneva;
  • "1. vice-président" should be "1er vice-président" ("1er" being ok too); same for "2." and "2ème".

Cheers, Schutz (talk) 23:06, 3 November 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thanks! I'll fix that later. Heh, long live my français fédéral... Sandstein (talk) 06:57, 4 November 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Oh well, you would not like to hear what my German sounds like, so I am not likely to cast the first stone... Schutz (talk) 07:57, 4 November 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
OK, done. I also made another update: it seems that Markus Stadler has joined the PVL. Sandstein (talk) 18:01, 4 November 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Tip: Categorizing images[edit]

Hello, Sandstein!
Tip: Add categories to your images

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

Uploadwizard-categories.png

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Cavalry cats[edit]

Hello, hello Sandstein ! The general idea was to use only pics of preserved pieces of equipement and not drawings, paintings, etc - things that can be found in the present "Horse armour" cat ( the reason why I avoided to label it as a sub-cat of "cav' equipment" in fact ). Just check out : only that kind of document in that category. What do you thing ;) ? Thib Phil (talk) 22:00, 12 January 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Sandstein (talk) 15:56, 18 March 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Sandstein (talk) 14:11, 20 March 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Who the hell do you think you are[edit]

"This text makes little sense and does not address the conduct that triggered this block" A I think you find my response does. B) I ain't repeating myself I ain't my fault that your thick and can't read further up the page. And C) when has grammer spelling and being coherent when you got the meaning a reason to turn something down. More like shit stirring and shit poking in my eyes from you. Consider yourself warned. And no I am not going away so talk to me, I will not be bullyed. And I ain't going away until you applogise and unblock me KnowIG (talk) 22:14, 28 March 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

This concerns your block on the English Wikipedia where I as unblock reviewer have removed your access to your talk page because you abused your talk page (en:User talk:KnowIG). I have previously removed from this page a message similar to the above ([1]) but you have reinstated it ([2]). Your message is disruptive because it contains personal attacks. I do not respond to disruptive messages and to messages that relate to another project. You have been advised to contact en:WP:BASC for a further review of your block on the English Wikipedia. If you continue to carry over your disruption from the English Wikipedia to this project, you may be blocked here as well. Sandstein (talk) 05:47, 29 March 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Ah didums is somebody throwing their toys out of the pram cause they're being challenged? I think so. Typical admin behaviour and as I said I'm not going to stop untill you talk properly and behave yourself. And no you've already started dialouge so going around banning people because I don't like is exactly the type of admin person you are. A pathetic one who drives users away from wikipedia. So man up stop acting like a dick and behave yourself and talk to me. I am not stopping so unblock me. I won't be here if you weren't so pathetic, it's my talk page and I will do as i like. If you want to go round decline unblocks for LAME reasons then don't bloody moan at the reaction. This reaction is exactly what it deserved as you cannot go around telling me what I can and cannot do on my talk page.
  • No admins should post winding up/poking/point or sarcastic comments.
  • no admin should keep moving the goal posts (another favourite) and not to keep pushing the issue.
  • Other than that any sensible constructive comment will be accepted and or challenged depending on what was said and the ignoring of the evidene or swatting it away with a tedious answer of you haven't said sorry havent' addressed the block or you don't understand (exuse me you don't know me so don't talk for me) etc is not allowed

Oh look you broke 2 of KIG's admin behaviour rules. What have you got to say for yourself. KnowIG (talk)

You are indefinitely blocked. See your user talk page for an explanation. Sandstein (talk) 09:49, 29 March 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
It's not hard to talk to someone I suggest you talk and reason with them instead of being antagonistic. Even if it means talking on here.

Alela Diane Wiki Image[edit]

Hi there,

I manage social and digital media for Alela Diane -- it looks like you posted the current photo of Alela that's on her Wikipedia page. She's told me that she really dislikes the photo and that it's out of date -- I'm trying to upload a new photo, but have heretofore been unsuccessful. Would you be interested in helping me get a new image up? I have the file on my harddrive and uploaded into Wiki Commons, but now cannot even find it in the commons...

Thanks for posting an image a few years ago, and thanks in advance for any help you can offer us. Alela and I both appreciate it!

Valentine Freeman valentine.freeman@acehotel.com

Hi. All images of Alela Diane should be accessible through Category:Alela Diane. If the image you seek is not there, you should create a user account via Special:UserLogin/signup. This will allow you to then upload the new file through Special:UploadWizard. Sandstein (talk) 06:18, 11 June 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Utterly Butterly wingwalkers?[edit]

Please help me. Why don't the Utterly Butterly and Crunchie aircraft (1996 images) belong in Category:AeroSuperBatics Ltd ? Do they need their own cats? --Hroðulf (talk) 12:05, 22 June 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The problem is that File:Antonov, City of Derry Air Show, May 1996 (01).jpg is not a plane of AeroSuperBatics Ltd, but some other Utterly Butterly advertising airplane. It's a closed-cockpit Antonov biplane with no wingwalking installations on the wing. Compare with File:Wing walking on a Boeing Stearman, Waddington - geograph.org.uk - 1139090.jpg, which shows the Boing Stearman biplane used by AeroSuperBatics. Sandstein (talk) 12:07, 22 June 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thanks. This looks interesting - it is a rumour that HA-MEP travelled to airshows alongside the Stearmans http://www.abpic.co.uk/photo/1264779/ --Hroðulf (talk) 12:19, 22 June 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

IQWIGundCo.pdf[edit]

today you deleted IQWIGundCo.pdf, arguing that it is not in use in any project. yet, there are a couple of links directing towards this file, from inside de.wikipedia as well as from the public (blogs etc). thus the reasoning leading to the deletion is faulty. could you please restore this file again? thanks--TobiasKlaus (talk) 17:30, 11 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Why are you deleting this file without any discussion? I restored it, since your deletion can be considered disruptive. The file is widely cited on de.wikipedia.org using direct links and even the German magazine "Der Spiegel" has printed an URL to another version of this document today. We can assume that there is a certain public interest, from Wikipedia users and other internet users as well. Thank you, --Polarlys (talk) 17:54, 11 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi. I've explained my reasons at Commons:Deletion requests/File:IQWIGundCo.pdf. Sandstein (talk) 20:38, 11 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Commons:Project scope: Must be realistically useful for an educational purpose - this fits definetly here with this file. You deleted a file without any good or realistic cause. This is really a problem. Maybe you should re-read the project-scope-site. Marcus Cyron (talk) 22:49, 11 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Questions re: image[edit]

File:Richard Tucker Ricardo.gif I see that it has no source and is attributed to Decca/Polygram Klassik. Today I uploaded File:Richard Tucker Rigoletto Metropolitan Opera 1971.JPG, and though the other image is quite small, it appears to have the signature of the Met photographer, Louis Milanconi, as the one that is sourced to the Met. The 1971 image never had any copyright marks, as you can see from the non cropped image. In short, I think this is a photo from the Metropolitan Opera, but the copyright status and dating are unknown; am just not certain where to go from here with what I believe. Thanks, We hope (talk) 03:50, 3 October 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Notifying you of an image removal under the DMCA[edit]

An image that you uploaded to http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Claes_Oldenburg,_Balancing_Tools.jpg was removed based on the receipt of a takedown notice made pursuant to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. 512 (the “DMCA”). The Wikimedia Foundation (“WMF”) takes alleged copyright infringement very seriously and carefully examines each takedown notice received and the image in question for compliance with U.S. copyright law. This image was one of 59 photographs included in a DMCA takedown notice received by WMF of various publicly-installed sculptures around the world created by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen.

Some of these sculptures are located in countries that recognize “freedom of panorama” for sculptures, while others are not. Currently, U.S. copyright law does not recognize freedom of panorama for works of art, such as sculptures, and thus the copyright holder of a sculpture has the right to exclude others from publishing images of that sculpture, so long as it still enjoys copyright protection. While it is true that some of the sculptures in question here are located in countries whose copyright regime conflicts with the U.S’s regime, current U.S. conflict of law principles indicate that U.S. copyright law would apply in evaluating the scope of a copyright holder’s rights.

WMF strongly supports a change in U.S. copyright law that would extend freedom of panorama to artwork so that more people can experience beautiful and thought-provoking works of art that they would not otherwise be able to enjoy. However, WMF is a U.S.-based organization that must comply with U.S. laws as they presently exist, including U.S. copyright law, conflict of law principles, and the DMCA.

What can you do?[edit]

If you want to express your support for the extension of freedom of panorama to works of art (and you are a resident of the United States), you can write your U.S. senators and/or representative.

If you feel that this particular image does not infringe the alleged copyright holder’s rights, you can contest the takedown notice by submitting a “counter-notice” to us. Before doing so, you should understand your legal position and you may wish to consult with an attorney. If you submit a counter-notice, the alleged copyright holder can stop us from restoring the content by suing you. Please note that WMF will not be a party to any legal action that arises from you sending a counter-notice, and that WMF is unable to provide you with legal advice.

More information on DMCA compliance may also be found at:

Filing a Counter-Notice[edit]

If you choose to submit a counter-notice, you must send a letter to legal@wikimedia.org asking WMF to restore this image. The letter must comply with DMCA standards and must contain the following:

  • A link to where the content was before we took it down;
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe the content was taken down mistakenly;
  • Your name, address, and phone number;
  • If your address is in the United States, a statement that says “I consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court in the district where my address is located, and I will accept service of process from the person who complained about the content I posted”; or if your address is outside the United States, a statement that says “I agree to accept service of process in any jurisdiction where I can be found”; and finally,
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

Pursuant to the DMCA, WMF must inform the alleged copyright holder that you sent us a counter-notice and give the alleged copyright holder a copy of the counter-notice. We will restore this image within ten (10) to fourteen (14) business days, provided that the alleged copyright holder does not give notice of suit to restrain re-posting of the material. File:Macaca nigra self-portrait.jpg[edit]

The problem with your line of argument is that it ignores the fact the issue that COM:ART stuff is created with the intent of reproducing the original image. In this case the there was no intent to recreate the original RAW file in particular there is an argument to be made that there was enough creativity involved in the rotation and the cropping to qualify for copyright.Geni (talk) 18:29, 6 December 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The monkey's shot an unprocessed RAW file. It would have been in a different aspect ratio to the final image (634*894 isn't consistent with any standard digital camera ratio I'm aware of). So ja creativity. The photographer also claims to have done some cloning but I have no idea of what.Geni (talk) 09:21, 7 December 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Picture of the Year voting round 1 open[edit]

Dear Wikimedians,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2012 Picture of the Year competition is now open. We're interested in your opinion as to which images qualify to be the Picture of the Year for 2012. Voting is open to established Wikimedia users who meet the following criteria:

  1. Users must have an account, at any Wikimedia project, which was registered before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC].
  2. This user account must have more than 75 edits on any single Wikimedia project before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC]. Please check your account eligibility at the POTY 2012 Contest Eligibility tool.
  3. Users must vote with an account meeting the above requirements either on Commons or another SUL-related Wikimedia project (for other Wikimedia projects, the account must be attached to the user's Commons account through SUL).

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. From professional animal and plant shots to breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historically relevant images, images portraying the world's best architecture, maps, emblems, diagrams created with the most modern technology, and impressive human portraits, Commons features pictures of all flavors.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topic categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you can vote for as many images as you like. The first round category winners and the top ten overall will then make it to the final. In the final round, when a limited number of images are left, you must decide on the one image that you want to become the Picture of the Year.

To see the candidate images just go to the POTY 2012 page on Wikimedia Commons

Wikimedia Commons celebrates our featured images of 2012 with this contest. Your votes decide the Picture of the Year, so remember to vote in the first round by January 30, 2013.

Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee

delete warning for 'File:WW Einstellgeraet 69.jpg'[edit]

Danke! -Frank Gosebruch (talk) 18:25, 8 October 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

How can I upload it?[edit]

You've deleted my file. So how can I upload it again?

You mustn't, not here. This repository is only for freely licensed images, which the ones you uploaded are no. See Commons:Copyright. Sandstein (talk) 12:00, 14 December 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Apparently, the ORIGINAL copyright holder of that image is Simon Annand according to this blog and this tumblr..--Stemoc (talk) 15:11, 14 February 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

FLIEGER·FLAB·MUSEUM[edit]

«Unklar was der Zweck des Hinweises ist, Informationen über das Museum und seinen Namen findet man im Artikel»

Klarer als durch meine Begründung kann es wohl nicht sein. Bei komplett gross geschriebenen Begriffen wird oft im Artikel ein Hinweis gegeben, dieser fehlt «drüben». Und ich meinte (bisher) der Zweck hier wie bei WP sei, möglichst komplette Informationen zu geben. Leider gibt es hier wie drüben die «unverbesserlichen Besserwisser». Was hätte dieser Satz denn gestört? Dreimal nichts! --Хрюша ?? 08:50, 16 November 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

--Хрюша ?? 10:42, 16 November 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
--Хрюша ?? 15:40, 16 November 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Violating Copyright![edit]

The monkey selfie is violating copyright, the authors do not want for it to be used. It is unfair that you used it. I would remove it.

This has been discussed in detail in various community fora, and the Wikimedia Foundation has maintained through their legal counsel that they consider that the photograph at issue is in the legal domain. I can't and won't overrule the Foundation, and I agree with their view, and will therefore take no action. Sandstein (talk) 17:32, 1 January 2015 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Inaccuracy in the flag of NATO[edit]

The inaccuracy is at the corners of the star. Try comparing:
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/archive/3/37/20151130233805!Flag_of_NATO.svg
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/37/Flag_of_NATO.svg
It's a fairly large inaccuracy as the corners do not meet to a point. I don't know how the vector I found was formed, but the inaccurate file was formed from a small raster graphics. Thanks a lot.

So quick question regarding the keep decision on this. Wouldn't a driver's license photo fall under the Florida Department of Transportation? And if so wouldn't it be subject to copyright per {{PD-FLGov}}? Florida DoT is listed under the "Agencies permitted to claim copyright" section of that template. It definitely falls under a public record so that isn't a problem. But if it is DoT then the image would be copyrightable. Or am I reading that wrong? Drivers licenses in Florida are issued under the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. Is that a child agency of the DoT? Or is it is own agency? --Majora (talk) 21:36, 12 June 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Und dann sehe ich da noch: The categories of this image should be checked. Check them now! Das finde ich aber nicht nötig. Könnte also raus. Grüße ins Alemannische (oder ins südliche Nachbarland?) --Schwab7000 (talk) 16:37, 29 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hm. Also bleibt es beim aktuellen Namen. Sorry. Sandstein (talk) 16:47, 29 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

File:Anthony Edward Meyer (2010).jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Thanks for uploading File:Pierre Alechinsky (1965) by Erling Mandelmann.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Pierre Alechinsky (1965) by Erling Mandelmann.jpg]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

De-adminship warning[edit]

This talk page in other languages:

Dear {{subst:PAGENAME}}. I am writing to inform you that you are in danger of losing your adminship on Commons because of inactivity.

If you want to keep your adminship, you need both to sign at Commons:Administrators/Inactivity section within 30 days of today's date, and also to make at least five further admin actions in the following six months. Anyone who does not do so will automatically lose administrator rights.

You can read the de-admin policy at Commons:Administrators/De-adminship.

Thank you--B dash (talk) 08:07, 19 August 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Town of Weslake[edit]

Greetings, Sandstein. A query has arisen regarding a file you uploaded, which has been used in a by-country Gallery without the photo's location being verified. De-adminship[edit]

Hi Sandstein — in line with the above de-adminship warning, I'd like to let you know that the admin inactivity run for August-September 2017 has now finished. As you had failed to indicate willingness to retain your admin privileges or to perform the required number of admin actions, I submitted a request on Meta-Wiki to have your adminship revoked as required by our inactivity policy.

A Wikimedia steward has already attended to this request, and you have since been added to the autopatrolled user group as you are a trusted and experienced member of the Commons community. I'd like to use this opportunity to thank you for the many years of your service to Commons; while it is disappointing that you're no longer as active as you used to be, I hope you will come back to us one day and will continue contributing to the project. Of course, please do feel free to re-apply for adminship when this happens :-) Thanks again! odder (talk) 22:10, 30 September 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

-- Buonasera (talk) 14:40, 3 October 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2017 is open![edit]

POTY barnstar.svg

You are receiving this message because you voted in R1 of the 2017 Picture of the Year contest, but not yet in R2.

Dear Sandstein,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2017 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the twelfth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2017) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1475 candidate images. There are 58 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top 2 from each sub-category.

In the final round, you may vote for a maximum of three images. The image with the most votes will become the Picture of the Year 2017.

Round 2 will end on 22 July 2018, 23:59 UTC.

Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee 11:33, 17 July 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Boy with rainbow-colored hair.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. Pay attention to copyright
File:Opening of Prime Minister's Questions 2013-02-13.ogg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. File:Opening of Prime Minister's Questions 2013-02-13.ogg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Permission to use an image for editorial purposes[edit]

Sir

I would like permission to use your image of the Liebefeld-Steinholzli public school. For my our protection I need a written permission from you. I can explain to you how it would used. There is a little urgency to this request.

If you are interested please feel free to write to me at boanthropy1@gmail.com Thank you, Francois Duckett —Preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.129.117.16 (talk) 17:25, 21 April 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

No permission is required, because it is already granted by the license the image is published under, and subject to that license's conditions. Sandstein (talk) 17:28, 21 April 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Photo Removal of girl doing harvesting in Yadav title wikipedia page[edit]

Good Evening, Please remove the girl photo doing harvesting on Yadav title Wikipedia page. It makes our whole caste look like same and having the same occupation. Many higher caste people tease us by saying that all Yadav are poor people. It really hearts our sentiments and makes us feel like inferior people. Since in this modern time many of our Yadav community people are trying hard and working hard to remove our tag of backward class people. Now we are in every field like academic, sport, politics, literature, cinema, etc. This photo pulls us down and works as an example for other caste people to make us feel inferior. So it's a humble request to you please remove the photo. I have attached the link to the photo at the bottom. Hoping you will feel our emotions and bring down this photo. RakeshYadav741 (talk) 14:55, 1 April 2021 (UTC) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yadav#/media/File:Ahir_woman.jpg Thanking you.RakeshYadav741 (talk) 14:55, 1 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

RakeshYadav741, sorry, but this file is in use by multiple Wikipedia projects. As such, as we cannot remove it as long as it remains in use. Moreover, Wikimedia Commons is not censored because of anybody's sensibilities, so we won't remove images on such grounds. Sandstein (talk) 16:10, 1 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Rollback[edit]

Hello. Thanks for your anti-vandalism work here! Do you want rollback to make things easier? --Minoraxtalk 13:33, 18 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Minorax, sure, thanks. Sandstein (talk) 14:13, 18 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I have granted rollback rights to your account; the reason for this is that after a review of some of your contributions, I believe I can trust you to use rollback correctly by using it for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Commons:Rollback. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck and thanks. Minoraxtalk 14:31, 18 April 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
